Workplace Learning Advocates Initiative
Upskill your workforce for free
This initiative has been operated by The Johnston Partnership in Cumbria/North West region since 2004. It is now also being delivered in the North East region & is soon to be piloted in Yorks & Humberside.
The initiative is now part of a national scheme in partnership with a London based organisation called Workbase who are delivering in the Midlands/Southern regions. Have a look at our national website for more information - www.wlas.org.uk
One of your employees could be trained for free to provide information and advice on learning for other staff members. There are two levels of training available:
2 day Workplace Learning Advocate Training course
Trained to interview colleagues, advise on individual learning needs and opportunities and promote a learning culture in your company.
On-line Workplace Learning Advocate Training course
Trained to publicise learning opportunities to colleagues.
On-going support is provided via newsletters and meetings to keep your employees up-to-date with FREE training opportunities.
The training is fully funded for non-unionised companies. Disability support and interpretation is available from us as required.
We also support Learning Clubs/Workplace Learning Groups.
The initiative was set up with funding from the Skills Funding Agency/European Social Fund and was further developed with Skills Funding Agency/Adult & Community Learning Funding. Current funder - Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
